Mounting instructions for hose inserts of the hose pinch valves as per type sheets 100.103 and 100.103/1

1.
Cone surfaces on the flanges of the valve body (1) and on the cone flanges (3) must be clean and free of grease for taking the hose insert (2). Water or a rubber-friendly liquids can be used as a mounting lubricant. Any cone flanges (3) damaged / leached in the opening area should be replaced.

2. Push the hose insert (2) into the valve body (1) in such a way that both ends project to the same extent.

3. Give cone flange (3) initial tension through 2 opposite assembly screws with nuts (B) - for dimensions see position 10 / table. Make sure that the cone surfaces of the flanges (3) find guidance in the hose insert (2).
ln the case of hose pinch valves DN 20 - 32 with
internal screw thread, the cone pieces on both sides are slightly pressed into the hose insert by means of retaining nuts.
The hose insert must not be twisted during pre-tensioning.

4. lnsert the assembly tube/assembly rod (A) - for dimensions see position 10 / table - into the hose insert (2). Then press the hose insert onto the assembly tube/assembly rod (A) using compressed air of about 6 bar and via control air connection G 3/8" (4) or G 1/4" for nominal diameters 20 - 32 respectively (see Fig. 1).

5. Then tighten the cone flanges (3) using the assembly screws/nuts (B) evenly on both sides until the cone
flange attachment screws with nuts (5) - dimensions/
quantity see position 10 / table - can be screwed in place and tightened cross-wise evenly on both sides. The cone flanges should then be flush to the body flanges (see Fig. 2).
From DN 150 onwards only flange attachment screws (5) - dimensions quantity see position 10 / table - without nuts are necessary, since the flanges on the body in these two sizes have appropriate interior threads for taking these screws.
In the case of the hose pinch valves DN 20 - 32 with internal screw thread, the union nuts are screwed tightly to the thread on the valve body.

6. Release the compressed air of approx. 6 bar; remove the assembly tube/assembly rod (A) and the assembly screws/nuts (B).

7. In the case of hose pinch valves with a flattened design, the hose insert is pressed approx. 5 -10mm against the closing hose insert (2) using a blunt key / rod (Fig. 3) in the direction of the body widening (= 90 ° from the control air connection) using approx. 4 - 6 bar compressed air control pressure during the first test closure in order to guarantee the correct closing pattern - all-round deformation of the hose insert (see working method included).
A triangular closing pattern is false!

Note: Wear protective goggles from the beginning of the testing procedure and keep your distance to the
hose pinch valve.
Do not use sharp assembly tools!

8. Test the hose pinch valve function again with approx. 6 bar compressed air service pressure to verify the firm hold of the hose insert on both sides of the body/cone flange bracing.
The hose insert may not be pulled out of the bracing and must display the closing pattern described above (see position 7).

9.  Please always note:
During start-up, the service pressure should be approx. 2 bar higher than the respective working pressure.

Max. working pressur:
DN   20 - 100 = 6 bar
DN 125 - 200 = 4 bar
DN 250 - 300 = 3 bar

Refer to our mounting and operating instructions for fittings (type sheet 1300.1300 and supplements) when installing the complete valve.

How the hose pinch valves as per type sheets 100.103 and 100.103-1 work

1. The adjacent illustrations illustrate the closing
process from the open to the completely closed
valve.

2. The cylindrical fabric back reinforced hose insert is pressed together evenly in one plane to the
central axis when the control agent (compressed
air or liquid) is applied.
When the control agent is removed, the hose insert
is opened to the complete nominal diameter valve
opening.

3. The hose pinch valve has a tube-shaped
non-constricted valve opening without resistances.
During the closing process, solids and deposits are
enclosed by the thick-walled hose insert with final
seal completely airtight.
